An Atchison teen was injured in a two-vehicle accident in the KC Metro Wednesday night.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Interstate 29 near the U-S 69 exit at 11:33.
A 1999 GMC driven by 64-year-old Donna Owens of Easton was slowing for traffic resulting from a previous accident when a 1992 BMW driven by 19-year-old Matthew Hutchins of Kansas City, Missouri started slowing and began to skid, striking the rear of the Owens vehicle.
A passenger in the Owens vehicle, 14-year-old Krystal Owens-Taylor of Atchison sought her own treatment for minor injuries at Overland Park Regional Hospital.
Donna Owens was not injured.
Hutchins and a passenger, 20-year-old Samir Taheri of Kansas City, were transported to North Kansas City Hospital with minor injuries.
The patrol says all occupants were wearing seatbelts, but says the investigation continues and charges are pending.
