(KLZA)-- The Humboldt City Council this week awarded a bid of just over $48,000 to Merzger Construction to make cement repairs to the deck around the Humboldt Swimming Pool. The work is to be completed by April 17, 2016.
In a related note the Council also approved a motion to apply for a Humboldt Community Foundation Grant for the swimming pool deck repairs.
Discussion was held concerning the monthly water operational costs due to the City from the Rural Water District. The expenses of just over $37,000 were incurred from January, 2014 through July 2015. The bill has been submitted to the Rural Water District. The remaining Water Project Engineering costs have not been determined at this point.
A resolution was adopted to set the final property tax request at $153,151, which is $9,305 higher than last year.
Maintenance Coordinator Les Drake reported the spring line area has been cleared of trees and weeds as requested by the land owner. The Council also approved building permit applications for Larry Jaros and Sherry Edmundson and a demolition permit for Fred Wittrock. All three permits were recommended for approval by the Planning Commission.
