(KLZA)-- Last week we reported that Pawnee County Commissioners had referred a bill for charges for the use of the Falls City Volunteer Fire Departments aerial fire truck during a downtown Pawnee City fire to the City of Pawnee City.
Since that time, Falls City Mayor Jerry Oliver and City Administrator Gary Jorn have decided there will be no charge to Pawnee City for the use of the equipment. In a brief release they said the feeling was that this was a regional effort to assist with an emergency situation and the City of Falls City is fortunate to have the resource to provide for the region.
Five Southeast Nebraska fire departments responded to the mutual aid call in Pawnee City for the downtown fire.
