First Female Falls City Police Officer Hired
06/16/2015

(KLZA)-- The first female police officer has been hired in Falls City.

The City Council Monday night voted 7-0, with Council Person Angie Nolte absent, to hire Millie King for an open position.  King will take the spot of officer Travis Mitchell who has resigned to take another job.

Mayor Jerry Oliver made the appointment. King was one of two people suggested for appointment by the Police and Fire Hiring Committee earlier this spring for an open position with the FCPD.

King will graduate from the Missouri Western Law Enforcement Academy at the end of this week.  She like Zachaery Ractliffe, who was hired in April, will have to attend the Nebraska State Patrol, Police Officer Training Program in Grand Island this fall.
