Honors For Peru State Students

(KLZA)--Four student members of Kappa Omicron Rho, the Peru State College chapter of the American Criminal Justice Association – Lambda Alpha Epsilon (ACJA-LAE), a national criminal justice honors fraternity, and their faculty advisor earned top honors at the organization’s annual national conference in Nashville, Tennessee.  

The Peru State contingent joined more than 420 LAE members from all around the country at the conference, which included competitions in written examinations, crime scene investigation, firearms, physical agility and more.

Award winners include:

Danny Hayes, Peru State criminal justice instructor and Kappa Omicron Rho advisor

1st Place - Physical Agility 36 & Over – Professional Division;  2nd Place – Corrections Exam – Professional Division; 3rd Place - LAE Knowledge Exam – Professional Division.

Evan Davies, a sophomore criminal justice counseling and psychology major from Omaha:  2nd Place - Criminal Law Exam - Lower Division

3rd Place - Juvenile Delinquency Exam - Lower Division

Grant Jensen, a sophomore criminal justice administration major from Lincoln:  3rd Place - Individual Firearms Competition – Lower Division

Hayes, Jensen & Tyler Ford, a senior criminal justice administration major from Lincoln: 2nd Place - Team Firearms Competition – Professional Division

In addition to the competition, participants attended a career fair for those looking for jobs in the criminal justice field, social events, and workshops focused on forensic anthropology, forensic photography and death investigations.
