(KLZA) -- The Richardson County Commission has entered into an agreement with Goldberg Group Architects of St. Joseph, Missouri to proceed with a preliminary design for renovation of the former Falls City armory into a jail and law enforcment center.
Artie Lucas and Derek Ptomey representing the firm met with Commissioners this week to present an agreement for architectural and engineering services for the proposed facility.
Sheriff Randy Houser recommended the County Board enter into the contract with the Goldberg Group. The initial work will cost $3,500.
The county jail is currently located on the 4th floor of the Richardson County Courthouse in Falls City.
In other business, Commissioners received preliminary plans for the replacement of a structure on 720 Road between 641 and 642 Avenue with the cost to be shared with Nemaha County, Nebraska.
