(KLZA)--A contract has been approved for the construction of a new jail and law enforcement in Richardson County.
The County Commission Tuesday voted to enter into a contract with AHRS Construction of Bern, Kansas for the construction of the facility at the former National Guard Armory on the west edge of Falls City.
In March, AHRS submitted a base bid and alternates on the project totaling $3.7 million.
A pre-construction conference with AHRS and the architectural firm Prochaska & Associates was held Tuesday afternoon. Several other companies interested in sub-contract work on the project also attended.
