(KAIR) -- One person is recovering following an industrial accident at an Atchison-based castings foundry.
Atchison Fire Chief Mike McDermed says crews and emergency personnel responded to the no-bake foundry area of Bradken's at 400 South 4th Street just before noon Tuesday.
McDermed says when they arrived, they found Chuck Bowers lying on the concrete floor. He said they were told Bowers had been working on some electrical equipment in an area about 12 foot above where he was found. McDermed says its believed Bowers may have come in contact with some of the electrical current and been shocked, causing him to fall.
Bowers was initially taken to the Atchison Hospital and then flown to a Kansas City area hospital.
McDermed says Bowers was complaining of arm and leg injuries prior to transport.
