(KAIR) -- Some new patrol vehicles may be traveling Atchison County roads in the future.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie met with County Commissioners Wednesday requesting to seek bids for new patrol vehicles.
Laurie says most of the current vehicles have over 80 thousand miles on them.
He says the new vehicles would be a SUV style, similar to a Ford Interceptor or Chevy Tahoe.
They would be fully marked with lights on top.
Additionally, Laurie says the Undersheriff’s vehicle will soon undergo a full marking with lights.
