(KAIR) -- Atchison County Commissioners approved various 2012 budget fund transfers in their regular meeting Wednesday morning.
More details on their late year adjustments will be in a future story
Also, more details on solid waste appeal hearings will be in a future story.
In other business Wednesday, Commissioners approved transferring the method of payment of part-time Appraiser Department employee Roger Denton from hourly to salary.
Appraiser Jim Lampe says the transfer would give payment to Denton for 24 hours at a higher rate than his hourly wage.
Lampe says Denton can sometimes work up to 34 hours during deadlines.
The motion passed two to one with Commissioner Mike Bodenhausen voting nay.
Bodenhausen says Denton’s wage could be monitored easier on an hourly scale and could save money for potential overpayment.
Lampe also informed Commissioners of the upcoming resignation of her department secretary Denise Thomas.
Commissioners gave Lampe permission to advertise for the position.
Commissioners also set a special start time for the swearing in of newly elected officials January 14th for 9:15 that morning.
