(KAIR) -- A majority of Monday’s Atchison County Commissioner meeting was dedicated to the final preparations for the transition to a countywide ambulance service.
Representatives of Techs Inc of Holton, as well as Atchison County EMS Director Chad Beckley informed Commissioners about the January First transition.
The new countywide service, which will be headquartered in Effingham, will handle all rural calls, with the Atchison Hospital EMS handling all calls in the city of Atchison.
Commissioners also met with IT Director Wes Lanter, who is putting together qualifications to hire a full-time IT Tech, which is budgeted for 2013.
Commissioner Jeff Schuele says the tech would assist Lanter on several projects next year.
