(KAIR) -- Rainbow Communications customers in Effingham will lose their cable services at the end of the year.
James Lednicky presented the news Wednesday night to the Effingham City Council.
City Clerk Pat Strine says the company will not be providing upgrades to current equipment in large part due to the community’s location and the 65 customers will need to seek other services by December 31st.
Lednicky says the company hopes to be able to return to provide services for the community in the future.
The Council also passed several ordinances, including amendments to prohibit 29 exotic animals for residences within city limits.
Strine says those include: constrictor snakes, crocodiles, bobcats and apes.
The Council also set a special meeting for September 20th at seven to shop providers for city health insurance, as well as consider no parking zones around the elementary and the junior and senior high schools.
They also approved the request from Heartstrings to use the blue building for an event December 1st.
They also approved the building’s use for a benefit dinner and auction for Steve Stirton on October 6th.
