Historic Bridge Complete in Atchison County

(KAIR) -- After several months of work, the historic Warren Truss Bridge near Farmington is now complete.

Tom Bennett of BG Consultants told Atchison County Commissioners Monday morning that the bridge, built in the 1930s, was renovated to hold several more tons.

After an inquiry from Commissioner Mike Bodenhausen, Bennett also explained the reason the bridge on 274th Road had to be constructed the way it was.

Bennett also mentioned that he’s currently finished with bridge projects in the county; however, he may be involved with an upcoming bridge project on River Road.
