06/05/2012

The athletics department at USD 409 will save some money for quite some time after receiving a donation from the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs donated un-needed and unused practice jerseys and gear to the district Monday night.

School Superintendent Susan Myers was excited about the cost savings.

The board also hired a construction manager at-risk for the proposed bond project.

Myers says they hired McCown-Gordon of Kansas City out of eight candidates.

They will work with HTK Architects on primary steps before a resolution to put a bond to election will be placed in front of the board in August.

Employees will have a new insurance carrier for next year.

The board approved United Healthcare to replace Blue Cross Blue Shield.
