Citizens will no longer have to make alternate travel plans between Saint Joseph and Atchison.
The Missouri Department of Transportation said Thursday that the the stretch of U-S Highway 59 from Rushville to the southwestern limits of Saint Joseph has re-opened.
It was closed on March 19th as part of a Safe and Sound bridge project by MODOT.
Repairs and updates were made to the Gay Branch and Cloverdale bridges.
It was originally slated to open on May 7th.
