(KTNC) -- A major road project is scheduled to begin at the end of the month on U.S. Highway 75 north of Nebraska City.
The Nebraska Department of Roads says contractors plan to begin working on U.S. 75 between Nebraska City and Union on March 31.
Work will include replacing the existing concrete roadway, installing new asphalt shoulders, repairing four bridges, installing new guardrails, grading and improved drainage.
Highway 75 north of Nebraska City will be closed beginning March 31 and will remain closed for the majority of the work. The road is expected to be open by mid-September.
Traffic will be rerouted to Highway 50 between Nebraska Highway 2 and U.S. 34.
