(KTNC) -- Roadwork will narrow Interstate 29 north of St. Joseph next week.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says traffic will be rerouted for work on the bridges over Dillon Creek and Route DD north of St. Joseph. Contractors will close the southbound lanes and divert traffic to the northbound lanes on Monday.
Once work on the southbound bridges is complete, traffic will be moved to the southbound lanes so work can be done on the northbound bridges.
In addition to the traffic flow changes on the Interstate, MoDOT officials say traffic on Route DD will be affected. Tuesday through Thursday, a flagger will direct motorists on Route DD as work is done on the overpass. Route DD will be closed for a few hours on Thursday so workers can remove the southbound bridges directly over the road.
Motorists will have to use an alternate route while the road is closed.
