Atchison County’s Road and Bridge department received 31 thousand dollars back from K-DOT as a result of an overpay on a cost share bridge project.
Atchison County Commissioners learned the news from Road and Bridge supervisor Matt Dorssom in Monday’s meeting.
County Commissioner Jeff Schuele explains the reason behind receiving the refund.

He says that money will now go into a special bridge fund for capital outlay.

In other business, Schuele says they will announce the next emergency preparedness director and noxious weeds supervisor at Wednesday’s meeting.
They also set an appointment for Heinicke LLC for 11 the morning of April 16th to discuss solid waste fees and the potential barring of dumping yard waste at the transfer station.
