Thanks to area Cub and Girl Scout organizations, the Easton City Park will soon see some improvements.
The Easton Girl Scouts reported to the Easton city council Monday night that they raised one thousand 44 dollars for new playground equipment.
City Clerk Jere Chieppo describes what will be installed.

Chieppo says in addition to helping the Girl Scouts, they plan to pick up trash as part of a service project as well.
The council also decided to approve to get quotes for installing a check valve and an inlet pipe in an effort to solve problems within their sewer system.
They also addressed the city animal control position.
Chieppo says it’s not getting put to good use.

The council also reported a good response to the Leavenworth County Humane Society Spay/Neuter Transport on March 15th.
Nine dogs and eight cats were transported from Easton.
The next transport is scheduled for September.
