Richardson County Board Approves Pay Increases
12/29/2015

(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners approved a 2% pay increase for the Road and Bridge Department Foremen and for the Administrative Assistant when they met last week. The increases are based on each one’s current salary.

After meeting with Emergency Management Director Brian Dixon the Board authorized the advertisement to accept sealed bids for radios to be used for public safety on Tuesday, January 26th at 11 a-m.

Dixon said the radios will be used for the outdoor warning sirens, severe weather operations, disaster operations and obligations to the Cooper Nuclear Station.

A pair of change orders totaling $4,419 were approved for the Jail / Law Enforcement Center project.  One for relocation of a rural water line and one for electrical requirements for a “special needs” cell.

Sheriff Don Pounds was granted permission to sell to another governmental agency uniform and police protection gear used by former Deputy Sheriff Lewis Barker who recently resigned.

Commissioners tabled a claim submitted by Barker for back pay as the K-9 drug dog handler from April 12, 2012 through December 31, 2014 for $14,310.
