(KLZA)-- The Falls City School District received a favorable report from the External Visitation Team that was in Falls City earlier this month.
The Board of Education was told Monday evening the committee will be recommending District 56 be accredited for another five years. The school district received high marks in leadership capacity between the Board and Administration. Instructional coaching which includes providing information to staff and for having clear procedures in place.
It was suggested District 56 work better at professional development, making sure the instructors at all levels are working toward the same goals and do a better job in making sure all faculty have a chance to be part in the decision making process.
In other business, the Board approved amending the Budget of Disbursements, Receipts and Transfers for the 2015-16 Fiscal Year and the Property Tax Resolution for the fiscal year.
The property tax request in the Special Building Fund was decreased by just over $111,000 due to a miscalculation on the bond fund. Property that became part of District 56 after the bonds were approved, do not pay on the bond. The overall budget will remain the same while there is a slight decrease in the overall levy.
