Richardson Co Sheriff Provides Updates to Commissioners

(KLZA)-- A new jailer/dispatcher has been hired for the Richardson County Sheriff's Department.

On the recommendation of Sheriff Don Pounds, the County Commmission this week approved the hiring of Lindsay Hill, of Reserve,Kansas, for the  position.  

Sheriff Pounds also reported he is still working on a meal contract with local establishments and that the Sheriff’s Office and Jail computer system is in need of updating.  

County Treasurer Austin Duerfeldt presented the 2014 delinquent personal property tax list which will be remitted to the Sheriff for distress warrant collections.  In all there is $37,040 in delinquent property taxes for 2014 in Richardson County.
