Richardson County Road Dept. Radio Problems Continue
04/28/2015

(KLZA)-- Richardson County Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert reported to Commissioners Tuesday that radio communications are still not working properly with reception described as poor.  Huppert requested this matter be resolved as soon as possible.  He has noted in the past the importance of being able to communicate with motor grader operators and various crews working in remote areas of the County.  The radios are vital tools if an injury should occur.

The Board approved entering into a government equipment lease-purchase agreement with CAT financial for financing a 2015 CAT motor grader purchased by bid awarded to Nebraska Machinery Company.

Following a meeting with Susan Phillips Keholm, Development Director of Southeast Nebraska Community Action, Melissa Hardenberger of the Falls City Outreach SENCA Office, Commissioners voted to proclaim May as Community Action month in Richardson County.

Commissioners also noted that the date of the County Surplus Auction has been changed from May 2nd to May 16th beginning at 9 a-m. The sale will be held at the Armory Building on the west edge of Falls City.

The Nebraska Association of County Officials has notified Richardson County that the final renewal adjustment for the Blue Cross / Blue Shield health insurance for county employees for the next year will decrease by three percent.

The meeting adjourned at 11:07 a-m.
