(KLZA)-- The Johnson-Brock Board of Education approved the 2015-16 school calendar when they met Monday evening. The first day of school in August for students will be the 19th.
Board members reviewed applications and resumes they have received for the Principal position. A special Board meeting will be held Monday, March 16 at 7 p-m to narrow the list of candidates.
Superintendent Jeff Koehler discussed the large Kindergarten class anticipated for the 2015-16 school year. Consideration of splitting the class into two sections is being considered. Projects at the football field including new lighting, a new press box and a path from the street to the steps were discussed. Koehler advised the Booster Club and JBAC have offered funds to help with the press box.
New Chrome Books have arrived at the Johnson-Brock School District and two carts that had computers will be replaced. E-Rate will be covering the expenses to put in new switches and new wireless points throughout the building.
Superintendent Koehler is also proceeding with the expansion grant for 3-years old pre-school.
