(KLZA)-- The Falls City Chamber of Commerce / Main Street Annual Banquet was held last week at the Falls City Elk’s Lodge.
While still two separate organizations, there will now be just one Board of Directors with common goals. Falls City Chamber / Main Street Executive Director David Branch explained it as a parallel merger. He says for tax purposes there are two organizations but just one Board of Directors. Heidi Garvin, Program Services Coordinator with GROW Nebraska presented a program on how the organization can help main street businesses. GROW Nebraska was created in 1998 that is based in Holbrook, Nebraska. The organization focuses on promotion and awareness for small Nebraska businesses. The main goal is to connect small businesses and entrepreneurs with the global market place through education, promotion and market access.
On the evening of March 24, GROW Nebraska will present an e-commerce and marketing training program in Falls City. The program will be held from 6-8 p-m. She said the goal will be to help share Falls City with the world.
Currently GROW Nebraska has over 330 members statewide.
The 2015 Chamber of Commerce & Main Street Board Officers will be Chairman Gary Jorn, First Vice Chairman Rachel Witt, Treasures Martin Leon and Secretary Sarah Ahern.
Board members will be Kaytlyn Kennedy, Penny Caudle, Cathy Hutfles, Dr. Steve Severin, Mike Gilmore, Kristy Gerweck and Lisa Schawang.
Outgoing Chamber Board members are Keia Frederick, Tony Brunette, Mary Whitehouse and Barb Vice. Those going off the Main Street Board are Brunette, Jami Ankrom, John Martin and Linda Santo.
