(KLZA)-- The Falls City Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Business Associates Social Hour Tuesday starting at 5:30 p-m at the Grand Weaver Hotel. Chamber Manager David Branch said the meeting, is open to the public and is important because a grant for downtown revitalization will be discussed.
Southeast Nebraska Development District Representative Lisa Beethe will provide information to those in attendance. A survey will also be handed out so everyone can express their thoughts on what they would like to have happen,
Branch says this grant is not part of phase II of the Streetscape grant. The grant monies with this grant would be used more for building improvements in the area. The grant money appears to have been secured for Falls City, but there are a lot of steps required before the money arrives in about a year. The grant application will not be submitted until March.
There is a match required of about $111,000. The City would be in charge. There would be various ways to set up how the grant funds can be utilized. Branch urges business and building owners to attend the meeting Tuesday evening to express their thoughts on how the grant monies should be utilize.
Again the BASH event will be held starting at 5:30 p-m Tuesday, at the Grand Weaver Hotel in Falls City.
