(KLZA)-- Seven people elected to office in Richardson County in November were sworn in Thursday morning at the Richardson County Courthouse.
County Court Clerk Magistrate Nancy DeKlotz swore in the elected officials followed by various deputies to those elected offices. Sheriff Don Pounds is the only newly elected county official. The now retired Nebraska State Patrol Investigator won in the May primary election against incumbent Sheriff Randy Houser and was unopposed in November.
None of the other elected officials had opposition during the 2014 election.
County Attorney Doug Merz begins his 6th term as elected County Attorney. He was re-appointed County Attorney in July 2007 following the resignation of Jeff Goltz and again in July of 2013 following the resignation of Bob Meyer.
County Clerk Mary Eickhoff begins her 8th term in office, Clerk of the District Court Pam Scott begins her 7th term and First District Commissioners Jim Davidson begins his second term. County Assessor Pam Vice, Treasurer Austin Duerfeldt and Surveyor Rob Tichy were all three appointed to their positions during the previous term and were elected to office for the first time.
