(KTNC)--Dean Bogle is getting an early start on his term on the Humboldt City Council
The council on Tuesday appointed Bogle to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of former Ward 2 Councilman Ed DeJonge.
DeJong, who retired from the council last month, was not running for re-election.
Bogle is running to replace DeJonge and is the only candidate on the ballot for the Ward 2 seat.
