(KTNC)--Peru State College will celebrate its 94th annual homecoming on Saturday, with a variety of activities leading up to the homecoming football game Saturday afternoon. The day begins with the running of “Nebraska’s Toughest Mile” at 8:30 Saturday morning. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the starting line near the Peru Fire Station and the race finishing near the front of T.J. Majors on the Peru State campus. There is a $20 registration fee. The homecoming parade, through downtown Peru, begins at 10:00 a.m. The theme is “Blue Magic” and there will be prizes for the top floats, decorated vehicles, and classic cars. A tailgate and carnival will be held on the Campus Quad from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. The tailgate features chili, burgers, and hotdogs. The Peru State Jazz Band will entertain in front of the Jindra Fine Arts Building and the carnival will be held on the green in front of T.J. Majors. There will be other activities for young and old alike. All that leads up to the homecoming football game at the Oak Bowl. Kick-off is at 2:00 p.m., with the Bobcats taking on Baker University. The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during halftime.
