(KTNC)--Heavy rains to the north have prompted the National Weather Service to issue flood warnings for the Missouri River at Brownville and at Rulo.
The warning at Brownville is in effect from Friday afternoon through at least Saturday afternoon.
The river stage at Brownville at 5:15 Friday morning was at 31.9 feet, with the river forecast to crest at 33.6 feet Saturday morning. Flood stage at Brownville is 33 feet.
At Rulo, where the flood stage is 17 feet, a flood warning is in effect for Saturday afternoon and evening. The river at 4:30 Friday morning was at 14 feet and minor flooding is forecast, mainly affecting farmland on the Missouri side of the river.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue through tonight for most of the area, with locally heavy rainfall possible. Severe thunderstorms are possible again Sunday…mainly in the afternoon and evening.
