(KLZA)-- Preparations are being made for this weekends Cobblestone Festival in Falls City.
Lori Gottula is the person responsible for putting the annual Cobblestone Parade together. She says over the years people have told her, the floats in the parade are a big draw. This years parade theme is “A Step Back in Time.”
The parade will lineup at the usual location around Pioneer Park. Parents dropping off kids are asked to let them out at Prichard Auditorium so they can walk to their spots from there to avoid traffic problems. Lori says the help from the neighborhood is appreciated. Those living between 18th and 21st Street on Barada and Towle Streets are asked to please move their cars off the streets by 8 a-m Saturday morning.
At least five bands are booked for the 11 a-m parade on Saturday. There will also be Shriners in the parade along with politicians and horses.
If you want to be in the parade, it is not too late to take part. About half of the parade entries show up the day of the parade. Pre-registration is appreciated. The best way to register is to sent an e-mail to gottula@sentco.net.
The Cobblestone Parade route will again go south from 20th Street on Harlan, down to 14th Street.
Cobblestone events will include carnivals rides, flea market booths, entertainment, games and of course plenty of food. The events continue through Sunday evening.
