(KTNC) - The city of Humboldt is applying for a Housing Rehab Grant. The City Council approved a resolution Tuesday to authorize Mayor Mike Riley to sign the application for a $372,000 grant through the Nebraska Affordable Housing Program.
The grant would provide for 12 homes in town to be rehabilitated.
On a related move, the Humboldt City Council approved a Code Enforcement Contract with SENDD.
That paves the way for the second phase of Humboldt’s nuisance code enforcement effort. The second phase covers the area of town between 3rd and 5th Street.
Code enforcer Emily Bausch will inspect properties in that area and report her findings to the City Council for further action.
In other action Tuesday, the Humboldt City Council appointed Pastor Matthew Mortenson to the Nursing Home Board, replacing Kevin Burnison. And the council hired Scott Hammon to be a substitute assistant swimming pool manager.
