(KTNC) - The Mound City Board of Aldermen certified the results of the April 8th Municipal Election on Tuesday.
Mayor Chris Krueger, North Ward Alderman Bob Heck, and South Ward Alderman James Krueger were all reelected to new terms.
Aldermen unanimously approved the appointment of James Krueger as board president and Patsy Smith as City Clerk.
Department supervisors and other city appointments will remain the same. Aldermen approved the appointment of Brian Tubbs as City Attorney, Annissa Brandon as City Collector and Deputy Clerk, and Michael Davis as Building Inspector.
After certifying the election results, the council approved the bid of $9,000 from Hiawatha Implement for a new utility vehicle for the Water Department. The bid is $18,000 for the vehicle, minus $9,000 for the trade-in of the city’s 2008 Gator.
The council approved J-and-E Concrete’s bid of $6,200 to install a floor drain in the new equipment building and build a 17-by-4 foot concrete pad on the east side of the building
Following a public hearing, Aldermen approved an ordinance that amends the subdivision code to require sidewalks in new subdivisions.
Aldermen also approved the renewal of current liquor licenses. Licenses were approved for Quackers, Kwik Zone, George’s C-Store, Terri’s Place, and The Klub.
Police Chief John Panning reported that the recent drug take-back event netted only five pounds of drugs from seven people.
Panning also said the police officer position is still open. In the absence of a second full-time officer, Panning said reserve officers have been putting in more hours and the State Patrol has offered to assist.
