(KTNC) - Falls City pet owners will be able to have their animals vaccinated and licensed during a clinic this month. The clinic will be held at Prichard Auditorium, from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 13.
Animal Health Center staff will be at the clinic to vaccinate dogs and cats and the Police Department will issue animal licenses.
Falls City ordinance requires all dogs and cats living in the city, six months of age or older, be licensed. Licenses expire in May. Pet owners must present a current rabies vaccination certificate when the license is issued.
The cost for pet licenses is $6 for males and spayed females and $11 for un-spayed females. The cost for animal licenses doubles after May. Rabies vaccinations cost $15, and are available to animals at least five months of age. Other vaccinations may be available during the clinic.
Pet licenses and vaccinations must be paid for separately.
City ordinances also require owners of certain breeds of dogs – American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Bull or Italian Mastiffs, Canis Panthers, Presna Canario – or any mix of those breeds, to provide proof of at least $100,000 in liability insurance with coverage for at least one year.
