(KTNC) - Residents of Peru are invited to a town hall meeting, as the city continues to update its priorities.
The meeting will be at the Peru City Hall beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15. The city will use input gathered at the meeting as part of a needs assessment process for a public works grant application the city and Peru State College have been working on.
Community leaders will update progress made and challenges encountered on community projects in the last year. They will also update the status of projects and goals that came out of a town hall meeting last year.
Projects identified last year included enhancing the entrance to Peru by upgrading Park Avenue, downtown revitalization, enhancing home ownership, and strengthening code enforcement.
Those who attend the May 15th meeting will be asked to add or delete items from the Peru Community Action Plan. They’ll also be asked to provide consensus of steps to take to address the top priorities facing the community.
Anyone with specific concerns regarding action steps but who will not be able to attend the meeting should contact the mayor, city council, city clerk, or the Peru Chamber of Commerce leaders before May 15.
