(KTNC) - The Humboldt City Council voted Tuesday to extend its contract with the Southeast Nebraska Development District to provide code enforcement. The contract was extended until April, at a cost of $1,500.
Code Enforcer Emily Bausch was at Tuesday’s meeting. She told the council she has arranged for a contractor to come to Humboldt and look at three properties that have been deemed to be nuisances to be cleaned.
The city of Humboldt has twice sought bids from contractors to clean nuisance properties, but has received no response.
In other business Tuesday, the Humboldt City Council settled on a health insurance plan for city employees for the next year. The plan through United Healthcare is similar to the current plan, but will cost the city about one thousand dollars less per month.
The council also approved a building permit for Colonial Acres Nursing Home and a Lot Support Clearance application for Dennis Crispin and Linda Dovel in the amount of $540.
Tuesday’s meeting was the only Humboldt City Council meeting for the month of December. They will not meet on the third Tuesday this month as normal. The Humboldt City Council will meet next in January.
