(KTNC) - Recycling facilities in Auburn will be open fewer hours.
Mayor Scott Kudrna says, beginning this week, the furniture recycling lot on the south end of Auburn will be closed during the week, and the city’s recycling bins will be moved into the furniture recycling area.
The recycling area will be open to the public from 8:00 a.m. until Noon on Saturdays beginning this weekend.
Kudrna says the county and city, which jointly operate the furniture recycling lot, made the decision to close the facility during the week due to recent problems with people dumping unapproved items at both the furniture lot and the city’s recycling bins.
Mayor Kudrna reminds Auburn residents that they don’t have to haul their recyclables to the recycling bins, as curbside recycling is included as part of the normal garbage collection.
