(KTNC) - The Nebraska Legislature concluded its work and adjourned for the year on Wednesday. Approximately 200 bills were passed into law during the 90-day session.
First District State Senator Dan Watermeier concluded his first year in the legislature. Four of the six bills he introduced were passed this session, including the bill he designated as his priority bill. Watermeier says some bills were not approved. (play audio :47)
Bills pending at the end of the legislative session automatically roll over into the next session. Watermeier lists a few of the bills that were approved this year. (play audio 1:05)
The legislature also passed a two-year, nearly 8-billion dollar, budget, that increases spending approximately five percent each year over the next two years.
