(KAIR) -- A house in the Atchison County community of Potter is considered a total loss after a fire Monday.
According to rural firefighter Larry Myer, crews responded to 520 Rawlins Road shortly before noon.
Crews remained on the scene until the fire was contained around 3:30.
No one was home during the time of the blaze.
Myer says the fire was believed to have started in the kitchen area. He said it's believed to electrical and accidental in nature.
Myer says, the home was owned by Steven Lee and occupied by Joey Arnold, his girlfriend and multiple children.
The Atchison Area American Red Cross was on the scene to assist the occupants with money for food and clothing and will assist them with funding for a new place while the Salvation Army was on the scene to assist firefighters with beverages.
Crews that worked the fire included the Mount Pleasant, Walnut, Easton and Fort Leavenworth Fire Departments.
