(KTNC) - The Humboldt City Council approved the roster of officers for the Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department, during this week’s City Council meeting.
Officers for the next year are Chief Rex Kapel, Assistant Chief Rick Dettman, Secretary-Treasurer Larry Stauffer, and Steward Danny DeJonge. The Fire Department Trustees are Trent Phillips for one year, Tom Dettman for two years, and John Snoke for three years.
Also on Tuesday, the Humboldt City Council approved a payment of $273,690 to Erickson Construction for work on the city’s water improvement project. They also approved paying an invoice from Rieschick Drilling for a well on Leroy Kaspers’ property.
The city purchased land for the new wells from Mr. Kaspers and as part of the purchase, the city agreed to pay for a new well to be drilled for Kaspers.
The council also approved a request from Jenny Stutheit to place more no parking signs along 4th Street, and a request from the Legion Auxiliary to use the Square Park for Memorial Day services.
