(KTNC) - A partnership between Peru State College, the Food Bank of Lincoln, and Catholic Social Services of Southeast Nebraska that aims to help alleviate food insecurity and childhood hunger in rural Nemaha County, Nebraska, kicks this week.
The initiative – Feeding 44 – will hold its first mobile food distribution center at Peru State College Friday. The distribution will be held at the Al Wheeler Activity Center from noon until 1:00 p.m.
Peru State College sophomore Rachel Henry has spearheaded the initiative. She says volunteers interested in helping distribute food can come to the Wheeler Activity Center at about 11:00 a.m. Friday. (play audio :28)

Mobile food distributions are planned the second Friday of each month at Peru State College.
