(KTNC) - The Humboldt City Council took care of its business in 15 minutes Tuesday night.
The council approved the final payment to Sargent Drilling, totaling $96,35, for work on the city’s water project. The council also approved a change order to the water project that will result in a net reduction of $32.86 in the contract amount.
After the old business portion of the meeting, the council adjourned then reconvened as newly elected council members Crystal Dunekacke and Jason James were sworn in to new terms after they won election in November.
The council appointed city officers for the next year. Vic Faesser was appointed City Attorney, Connie Laflin was appointed City Clerk, Mark Novak was appointed City Treasurer, and Les Drake was appointed as the Maintenance Coordinator.
Crystal Dunekacke was elected Council President.
The Humboldt City Council has only three members, following the resignation last month of 1st Ward Councilman Keith Carlin. The council will appoint a fourth councilperson during their next meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, January 8th.
Anyone interested in applying for the vacant 1st Ward Council seat in Humboldt can apply at the City Clerk’s office.
