Richardson County Commissioners received one bid for the county insurance when they met Tuesday. Miller-Monroe Insurance of Falls City submitted the lone bid of $178,404. Included is the counties auto and building insurance along with all liability, workman’s compensation, crime coverage along with errors and omissions. The bid was accepted for further review.
Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert presented the 1 & 6 Year Road Plan to the Board for their review prior to next week’s public hearing on the plan.
No bids were received for the sale of closed bridges in the county. The bid process has been tabled and the Commissioners will now decide what action to proceed with for the removal of the bridges.
Extension Educator Lindsay Chichester and 4-H Aide Jamie Rutt met with Commissioners to provide the annual Extension Service report. Open meeting laws pertaining to the Extension Board and 4-H Council were reviewed and whether these boards should meet at the Courthouse because the doors are locked in the evenings. Staff wages were also discussed and will be reviewed further.
Commissioners also reviewed a counter proposal on wages from the Road Department received last week. The Board will contact the Union to schedule another meeting.
Notification was also received from the Nebraska Crime Commission that the jail facility is in full compliance with the Nebraska jail Standards.
