(KLZA)-- Richardson County Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert informed Commissioners Tuesday that a notice to proceed for the Verdon Northwest Bridge project has been received and that preparations are being made to begin preliminary work on the site.
In other business during the weekly meeting Commissioners conducted a public hearing to receive comment on the proposed closing of a portion of 651 Avenue, south of 704 Road to the north bank of Pony Creek. One person from the public was present and no one in attendance was against the closing.
A resolution to consider the closing of the road will be introduced during the December 8th Board meeting.
Commissioners also met with Darel Zimmerman with the Land Management Division of Running Foxes Petroleum who met with the Board regarding the possibility of using county road right-of-way for the exploration of a 9-square mile seismic grid surrounding their lease. The project is scheduled for January if the weather permits. The project is in the Liberty Township.
Terms to be included in an agreement for the project were discussed. An agreement will be prepared and presented to the Board for consideration.
