(KLZA)-- Haug Communications informed Richardson County Commissioners this week that they would be able to leave some equipment including radios on a trial basis for the County Road Department to try out. The new equipment should have the capability of reaching an additional tower located near Shubert which should improve country-wide radio communications.
During a meeting with Haug representatives and Emergency Management Director Brian Dixon who is in charge of the county radio system Commissioners voted to proceed with the equipment on a trial basis.
A contract was approved with A.M. Cohron & Son Inc. of Atlantic, Iowa for the Verdon Northwest bridge project. A motion to advertise for sale by sealed bids used equipment and materials that have been considered to be surplus at the Road and Bridge Department.
County Assessor Pam Vice discussed the implementation of Pictometry. The City of Falls City and Nemaha County, Nebraska are going to utilize the service and flyover work will be done in the near future.
Commissioners will meet with Pictometry representatives next week to discuss the service.
