Pawnee County Board To Sell Steinauer Lots
07/24/2015

Pawnee County Courthouse

(KLZA)-- Mary Wagner, Secretary / Treasurer and Bob Steinauer, Board member of the Steinauer Heritage Community House met with the Pawnee County Commissioners this week, attempting to acquire three lots in Steinauer, owned by Pawnee County.

A proposal was offered in which the County, would deed the land to the Steinauer Heritage Community House for $30, and forgive past taxes and costs. County Attorney Jennifer Stehlik Ladman explained the statutes regarding surplus property owned by the County.  The Board must decide on a method of selling the property, advertise the sale and hold a public hearing.

Commissioners then approved a motion to sell the surplus property.

Stehlik Ladman also discussed an agreement with the Department of Health and Human Services concerning the reimbursement process of child support. Agreements were approved between DHHS and Pawnee County.

Pam Armknecht with Southeast Nebraska Community Action met with the Board in regards to SENCA being over budget by $2,430 due to paying a substitute transit driver.  Commissioners approved the County paying half of the overage amount with the remainder to be reimbursed by the State of Nebraska.

Approval was also given to paying $1,965 for repairs to the Pawnee County Historical Society.  The funding will come from the Pawnee County Visitors Improvement Fund.

A contract for Schultz and Associates to conduct the 2015 Pawnee County audit was also approved.
