(Falls City)-- The Nebraska Department of Roads will hold an Information Open House regarding the proposed improvement of U.S. Highway 73 in Richardson County.
The open house will be held on July 14th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Falls City Senior Center, 221 W. 16th Street, in Falls City.
The proposed project would resurface about 3 miles of US-73, starting at 7th Street, just north of the southern corporate limits of Falls City, and extending to about one mile north of the northern corporate limits of Falls City.
The project would consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway and shoulders. The project would also include concrete repairs, curb ramps, grading and removing guardrail.
The four-lane section from 7th Street to 19th Street would be reduced to three lanes, including a northbound, southbound, and a center two-way left-turn lane. The three lanes would be reconstructed with full depth concrete pavement.
Personnel from the Department of Roads will be available to answer questions, receive comments, and discuss any aspect of the proposed highway improvement project.
Information regarding the project will be available after the meeting on the NDOR website at www.roads.nebraska.gov/projects/ by clicking on the “In Falls City and North” link.
