02/05/2015

(KLZA)-- Pawnee County Commissioners were scheduled to open bids for box culvert projects in the Table Rock area when they met Tuesday.  However, no bids were received for the projects.

Highway Superintendent Chris Rauner said the completion date of June was problematic for bidders.  Pawnee County is now discussing options with Mainelli and Wagner Engineers. The One and Six Year Road Plan for Pawnee County was also discussed during the meeting.

Pawnee County will be changing health insurance carriers for county employees from CoOportunity Insurance to United Healthcare.  CoOportunity Insurance will be liquidating. Commissioners approved a check payable to United Healthcare in the amount of $26,610 for March health insurance for employees.

Commissioners accepted the Noxious Weed Infestation Report and reviewed correspondence from the State of Nebraska, Department of Environmental Quality regarding Schaardt Ag, Incorporated Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation owned by Steve Schaardt.  The feedlot is approved for operation.
