(KLZA)-- Pawnee County Commissioners Tuesday voted to amend the recently passed county budget. Deputy County Clerk, Candi Tuxhorn informed the Board the amendment was needed because of revenue that had been put in twice. The change will not affect the appropriations for tax dollars.
Commissioners discussed payment for preparing the budget. On a 2-1 vote the board approved paying Tuxhorn the entire $1600 fee. Commission Chairman Bradley Stake cast the nay vote.
The Pawnee County Board also approved signing a Declaration of Disaster for damage in Pawnee County caused by a June 2nd storm. The motion was approved following discussion with Emergency Manager Clint Strayhorn.
Sheriff Jayme Reed and Count Clerk Carol Young discussed Courthouse security and panic buttons for the Judge’s bench. Sheriff Reed will check into a Kevlar curtain to go on the inside of the Judge’s benches and panic buttons for County Court, District Court, Assessor, Treasurer, Clerk and the JNP Extension office.
Commissioners did award bids for a pair of culvert projects to Midwest Underground, of Lincoln in a combined amount of $145,253, contingent on Mainelli & Wagner’s review. The bid was awarded to the low bidder from three bids received.
Commissioners also asked Highway Superintendent Chris Rauner to re-evaluate the weight limit on a bridge and to do a study to close a road approximately 400 feet south of the intersection of Highway 65 and 623 Boulevard.
