(KLZA) -- Peru State College has announced the creation of a competitive scholarship program for area students majoring in business administration.
The James G. and Mavis Green Scholarship is designed to support undergraduate students preparing for careers that will utilize knowledge and skills in accounting, computer and management information systems, management and/or marketing.
Created by the children and family of the Greens, the scholarship will be awarded annually to four full-time students enrolled at Peru State, one from each undergraduate class year. The scholarship can be received by a student more than once but must be applied for each year. Each scholarship will initially be valued at approximately $800 for the academic year.
The application deadline is Sunday, June 1.
Applicants must be graduates of high schools from the following counties in Nebraska: Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee or Richardson;
In Kansas: Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Jackson or Nemaha;
In Missouri: Atchison, Holt, Nodaway or Worth;
In Iowa: Fremont, Mills, Montgomery or Page,
Freshmen applicants must have an ACT score of 20 or higher. Sophomore, junior and senior applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
